One hundred free dining-halls for the helpless people
The project was launched in December, 2005 and envisaged the feeding of helpless people. During
the current year 100 dining-halls were opened, where full menu (first, second and third) is provided to 4442
persons on a daily basis.
The project - 100 free dining-halls for helpless people is still under implementation.
The National Movement standing by the people
The project implementation was started in September, 2005 and envisaged the support of the population
in case of natural disasters and emergencies.
Within the project, the assistance was provided to the population affected in result of the flood in
Racha and Tskaltubo. In particular, on behalf of the National Movement, the goods of first consumption
(clothes and products) were delivered to those people;
During the shortage of natural gas in January, 2006, the population of Tbilisi and Kutaisi, were provided
with bread, firewood and kerosene; in summer 2006, after Kodori events, on behalf of the National
Movement, the population of Kodori was provided with several tons of the goods of first consumption (flour,
sugar, oil, salt, clothes, mattresses and blankets) and construction materials (blocks and cottage
construction materials).
Lead a healthy life and stand by your country
The project was launched in 2004 and is still being implemented. The goal of the project is the mass
development of sport within the country and the involvement of the youth in sport in order to lead a healthy life
and stand be useful to their country. Several large-scale events took place within the project
framework and practically covered all regions, cities, villages and districts of Georgia. A total of 30 000 persons
took part in the project in 2005 and 40 000 persons – in 2006.
2005-2006 – Championship in mini football for the Challenge Cup of the United National Movement;
2005-2006 – Championship in Georgian traditional wrestling for the Cup of the United National Movement;
practically all regions were involved in the program;
2006 – First time in Georgia, street basketball for the Cup of the United National Movement; all districts of Tbilisi,
as well as, of all the big cities of the country were involved in the program;
2006 – World championship in chess among the adults of 12-18 with the initiative and direct participation of the
United National Movement.
“Patrinot” – competition of patriotic songs
The project “Patrinot” was launched in 2005 by the United National Movement and the purpose of the project was to organize the competitions on patriotic songs and military marches, as well as, to reveal the best compositions and award the winners (each winner would be awarded and their compositions would be recorded). Any interested individuals despite the age and profession were allowed to participate in the project. The participants were requested to submit the application and the audio record of the composition.
The project covered the whole country. The applications were delivered to all district and regional offices of the
United National Movement.
In Autumn 2005 the first competition was announced where 800 individuals participated. In result, seven
winners were revealed and awarded. The songs submitted by them were recorded in one album. In addition,
video (“Patriots are coming”) was taken on the song of Lex-sen, one of the winners. The final concert was held
in the Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Tbilisi on November 23.
In Spring 2006 the second competition was held, where 500 individuals participated and eight winners
were revealed.
The final concert was held on May 26 in the Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Tbilisi. Video was taken on the
song of Luisa Dudaeva, one of the winners.
Program “Patriot”
Upon the Decree #345 of the President of Georgia, dated May 7, 2005, the program “Patriot” was launched.
Program “Patriot” is oriented on camp system and is implemented in different regions; the goal of the program
is to raise patriotic understanding in the youth, help young people to grow up strong in body and healthy in
spirit; to develop high ethical qualities in the young people, to carry out the exchange programs, trainings and
seminars, as well as, various cultural, sport and cognitive activities.
A total of 15 000 young students at the age of 16-20 participated in the program 2005. The program was
implemented at 10 groupings. The duration of stay for each grouping was 10 days and 225 adults per camp
rested at each grouping. The camps were located in Lagodekhi, Bazaleti, Bakuriani, Tskaltubo and Vartsikhe.
A total of 30 000 young students at the age of 15-22 participated in the program 2006. The program
participants came from all regions of Georgia, as well as, from foreign countries (Iran-Fereidan, Turkey-Lazi,
Azerbaijan and Armenia). Also, the children of veterans of war and the children of those deceased in
Samachablo and Abkhazia wars (a total of 500 adults) participated in the program. In the current year, the
Program “Patriot” was implemented at 11 groupings. The duration of stay for each grouping was 11 days and
405 adults per camp rested at each grouping in Bakuriani, Lagodekhi, Sagarejo, Vartsikhe, Khelvachauri,
Skuri and Bazaleti.
National Heritage Club “Tadzari”
Upon the initiative of the United National Movement, the Ministry of Culture, Memorial Protection and Sport, the
project “Don’t forget the past, discover your country” was implemented in summer 2005.
The basic purpose of the project activity was the involvement of the majority of Georgian population in the
process of the study, the care and popularization of national cultural heritage. After creating and providing the
management, the club was transferred to public. With this purpose, the first official meeting was held on
May 20, 2006, where private companies and famous people participated. The Memorandum was signed in
“Porakishvili Hall”.
Hundreds of students became the members of the National Heritage Club “Tadzari”; the students conducted
several expeditions that are still in process.
Present for Children
Upon the Decree ¹362 of the President of Georgia of June 26, 2006 the Presidential program “Present for Children”
was implemented. The program envisaged one-day free excursion to Borjomi Park. The excursion covered free
attractions, free food and movies; also, memorable present was given to each participant.
A total of 30 000 children participated in the Presidential Program in 2005. The program continued from June
1 until October 10 inclusively.
In 2006, socially vulnerable and excellent students at the age of 10-15 from all the corners of Georgia participated
in the Presidential Program.
The implementation of the Program started on June 3 and ended on September 30. In parallel to Borjomi, from
September 3, the excursions were organized in newly opened park of Choloki “Tsitsinatela”. A total of 100 000
children from all regions participated in the program.
